Whether it’s a musician whose work was stolen and sampled without permission or an artist who found out that their work was reproduced and sold without them knowing, we have heard tales of the injustices done to artists who have been left feeling helpless and like fighting for their rights isn’t worth the money, time and energy. 20/20 Legal: Case Studies and Preventative Steps for Artists is a workshop that will help equip artists with a basic knowledge of intellectual property law, including contracts, licensing agreements, fair use, work for hire and other useful tools through real world cases.
During this workshop, artists will hear several common case studies from which many horror stories are born and learn how those situations could have been avoided through some easy precautionary steps.
